Matthew 24:13, "He that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved.

Read the chapter. Jesus is answering a question about the destruction of the temple and the tribulation coming on that generation (Matthew 24:3, 34). "Saved" here is deliverance through that calamity, those who endured and heeded His warning to flee to the mountains (24:16) were physically preserved when Jerusalem fell in AD 70, while those who did not perished by the hundreds of thousands. This is time salvation in its plainest historical form. Even taken spiritually, the verse identifies who the saved are (the enduring), not what earns salvation, and endurance itself is God's gift: "who are kept by the power of God" (1 Peter 1:5). The sheep endure because they are kept; they are not kept because they endure.
