Revelation 2-3, the promises "to him that overcometh" prove a special class of attainers.

Answered in principle at Objection 16, but note what the overcomer promises actually are: to eat of the tree of life (2:7), not to be hurt of the second death (2:11), to have one's name confessed before the Father (3:5), to sit with Christ in His throne (3:21). If these are elite attainments, then non-overcoming believers are hurt by the second death and denied the tree of life, that is, damned. The promises are the common inheritance of all the saved, which is why John defines the overcomer as every believer (1 John 5:4-5). The letters close identically: "He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches", all seven letters, all promises, to all the churches.
