Objection 44
From Sovereign Grace and the Scope of Election: A Comparative Examination of Attainment Theology and Grace Theology, with Particular Attention to the Question of Whether God's Elect Are Found Among All Nations and Religions
Amos 3:3, "Can two walk together, except they be agreed?" We cannot fellowship error.
Then the principle must be applied honestly in both directions. The sovereign grace church also practices ordered fellowship and withdraws from disorder (2 Thessalonians 3:6), the difference is the standard of agreement. Scripture's terms of walking together are the apostles' doctrine and fellowship (Acts 2:42); the attainment system's operative term is submission to the attainment system. When a system's test of fellowship is itself rather than the faith once delivered, Amos 3:3 indicts the system: God and that system are the two who are not agreed.
